Group Therapy

Group Therapy for Men in their 30s
In Person on Monday Evenings

This process-oriented group offers men a place to work on core development and authenticity in relationships. It is a safe space to broaden and deepen emotional capacities, work through obstacles to intimacy, share “unthinkable thoughts,” and to experience intersubjectivity with other members. The group is open to individuals that are invested in long-term psychological work.

Group psychotherapy provides a context for change found nowhere else. Group members co-create a process of psychological holding and containment needed for relational development.

John Fiene LCSW is the consultant to the group. His role is to provide interpretations of unconscious group dynamics, observations, questions, and feedback to help the group along. There are no specific instructions or educational materials provided.

John is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois and analyst-in-training at the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute. He has offered groups in clinical, academic, and community settings for 13 years. He has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors from diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. His personal journey as a group member has been transformative and deeply informs his empathetic and intuitive approach to groups.
